IYEMON CHA is a well-known brand with a long history - it was founded over two centuries ago in 1790 and is now one of Japan's top three leaf tea sellers.
Kabusecha tea is grown under partial shade for 14-20 days before harvesting, which gives it characteristics of both sencha (not covered) and gyokuro (fully covered). It has sencha's refreshing flavor and some of gyokuro's umami sweetness. A touch of tone-ground matcha is added to impart a more intense sweetness, umami, and depth of flavor.
